97% of road users now have one or more navigation systems in their vehicles. Sometimes, navigation usage leads to conflicts. Therefore, it's crucial to provide navigation systems with the most up-to-date information. Meet our tool, Livia, the handy solution that aligns the digital reality with the physical one. This ensures that road users relying on live navigation from Google Maps, TomTom, Apple Maps, and/or Waze can trust their navigation.

ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE

Unwanted traffic is undesirable for multiple reasons. It’s frustrating for a road user to receive unclear instructions, and it can also lead to unsafe situations around the work zone. Therefore, it’s essential that navigation systems adopt the correct routes. This way, the area remains accessible, and road users can travel safely and smoothly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why isn't using Melvin sufficient?

Bluetooth and floating car data signals can cause navigation systems to detect traffic flows. The road will then be reopened in the systems, leading traffic towards the work zone. Livia ensures a hard closure, preventing the road from being spontaneously reopened in the systems.

What are the benefits?

We keep traffic away from the work location. This results in less frustration, increased safety, and up to 11% less CO₂ emissions around the work zone.

What is the advantage for the road user?

In more than 79% of cases, road users are unconsciously directed via an alternative route. They don’t encounter the closure and then have to turn around. This prevents frustration and delays.

Which navigation systems does this work with?

Livia works for more than 85% of live navigation users in the country. The applicable systems include Google Maps, Apple Maps, TomTom, and Waze.

Which roads can be closed?

Any (car) road listed in a navigation system can be closed in Livia. This can be a complete closure in both directions, a lane closure in one direction, or a lane restriction. Bike paths can also be closed. In short, the entire work area can be made traffic-free.

How do destination streets work?

It’s possible to designate digital destination areas. However, there must be a physical closure sign (C01) present. Through traffic is then no longer directed through this area. Destination traffic, i.e., traffic with the endpoint in that street, is still granted digital access.
